Affordable two bedroom Camps Bay vacation home – perfect for small families or couples
This 2 bedroom Camps Bay vacation home is situated in a Cul-De-Sac off Rontree Road, in the southern area of Camps Bay / Bakoven. The only things between the Camps Bay vacation home and the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, are a single road and two rows of houses. If you enjoy walking, then the entrance to the reserve is just 10 minutes away, with direct access to lots of hiking, walking and climbing trails within the 12 Apostles mountain area.
To access the Camps Bay vacation home, you take a short, up-hill drive into a tandem, double garage.
The perimeter of the Camps Bay vacation home is surrounded by two meter-high palisade fencing with a remote controlled gate. The boundary wall behind the house is 2.5 meter-high solid stone. Houses on either side provide shelter from the sea winds.
The garden is mostly indigenous and self-reliant as it was developed to survive the steep slope and strong winds which come up occasionally.
This quaint Camps Bay vacation home is a small, self-contained, single storey, but because it is located on a slope, there are short flights of stairs here and there.
The main bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a double bed, dressing room and access onto the generous patio and Jacuzzi. The second bedroom has a separate bathroom with shower situated on the opposite side of the passage; and a double bed. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan to keep you cool in the Cape Town heat. If needed, the sunroom has a comfortable, modern sofa-bed to accommodate a fifth guest.
The kitchen and dining room are semi open-plan, and there’s a laundry and scullery attached. The kitchen is fully equipped with a new electric oven and hob, a microwave, a new fridge / freezer, and dishwasher. A laundry room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The living room has a TV, gas fireplace and under-floor heating to keep you warm during the icy coastal winter.
A large, West facing patio is accessible from the sunroom / TV room which boats breath-taking ocean views. This room has a big LCD flat-screen TV with satellite, SABC and radio channels, as well as a DVD player / recorder.
A staircase through the garage leads to an office / study with computer plug points available plus a lovely view of the ocean. The long, high-ceilinged garage provides ample space for any two vehicles to park one behind the other; and there is enough space to allow a car to turn and drive forwards down the drive.
This cute Camps Bay vacation home and the surrounding area is fully protected by an alarm system which has inside monitors as well as infra-red beams outside. 24 Hour direct contact with a well-known, nearby security company PLUS the Cul-De-Sac location and being positioned on a steep hill all add to the property’s security features.
Camps Bay beach is a mere 2 kilometres away (or a 5 minute drive); Clifton beaches are just 4 kilometres, or 7 minutes drive away, while Sea Point is only 6 kilometres, or 10 minutes drive away. When driving in the opposite, southerly direction, Llandudno and Hout Bay are a very short 4 kilometres (7 minute drive) and 10 kilometres (12 minute drive) respectively.
If you run out of something at the Camps Bay vacation home, a small convenience store / supermarket is approximately 3 minutes drive away; but if you’re looking to walk around a bit, Camps Bay Shopping Centre comprises a fairly big Supermarket, doctor’s surgery, pharmacy, video shop, travel agent, several little clothing stores and countless trendy restaurants. If you enjoy watching live shows, The Bayside Theatre is there as well. Hout Bay and Sea Point are also great places to shop and dine.
